Honestly, when I first pulled up to the Sheraton Miramar in El Gouna, I wasn’t sure what to expect – you know how these Red Sea resorts can be hit or miss. But this place actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. It’s tucked into El Gouna’s lagoon system, which means you’re not just getting another beachfront box but something that feels more integrated with the town’s weird, wonderful canal vibe. The resort sits right where you can walk into the main El Gouna area without needing those golf cart shuttles that other places make you depend on.

What really struck me was how they’ve handled the whole “desert meets water” thing. I mean, El Gouna itself is this bizarre planned community that shouldn’t work but somehow does, and the Sheraton fits right into that energy. The pools cascade down toward the lagoon in a way that feels natural rather than forced, and honestly, the lagoon swimming is where this place shines. You’ve got these shallow, warm waters that are perfect when the Red Sea gets choppy – which happens more than people realize, especially in winter months. The snorkeling right off their beach is decent too, though you’ll want to head to the outer reefs for the really good stuff. Their dive center can sort you out with trips, and they actually know what they’re doing unlike some resort operations.

The rooms are solid without being flashy – I stayed in one of the lagoon-view ones and woke up to herons fishing outside my window, which was pretty magical. Check-in was smooth, parking is easy (important if you’re renting a car to explore), and the staff has that Egyptian warmth without being pushy. Food-wise, well, it’s resort food, but the seafood is fresh and they do a good job with local dishes when they try. The breakfast spread is extensive enough that you won’t get bored over a week-long stay. What I appreciated most was how quiet it gets at night – El Gouna can be party central depending on the season, but the Sheraton feels removed from that chaos while still being walkable to the action. You’re looking at maybe a ten-minute stroll to the marina area where all the restaurants and bars are clustered. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what a good beach resort should without the pretension or the problems that plague some of the larger Hurghada properties. If you’re using it as a base to explore the diving, the desert, or just want to chill by impossibly blue water without dealing with crowds, this works really well.

  Beautiful location, staff is so nice, activities directly available within the complex is a plus (diving, kite, massage, etc)

  Excellent stay; renovated rooms, heated pool, fantastic staff and service (all of them), very good food, many optional areas to use, recreation in the evenings, wonderful scenery.

  The hotel facilities, architecture, grounds and environment are exceptional. Food was good.
  
  What could be improved: Booked and paid for double bed sea view. Hotel confirmed.
  Upon arrival given twin beds beachfront but sea view completely obscured by planting.
  Told we could change next day, shown a lovely room and accepted it but arrived with our bags to see other guests shown into it.
  Returne to reception and finally had to settle for a lagoon view. Told it was sunny aspect but was shady. Very disappointed indeed. Have stayed several time but this time waiter service in restaurant was good but poor and almost rude on outside breakfast terrace.

  Bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was very clean.

  What could be improved: Liquid hand soap instead of a bar, the shower wasn't very powerful and could not stop the overhead shower from raining down.
  Balcony, shame about the red wall obscuring the view.

  Place is so clean and so quiet. Staff is so friendly. Room view is beautiful. Acceptable variety in breakfast and dinner. Only one comment regarding dinner; for the case of reserving Breakfast and Dinner only …at dinner water/ juice/ soft- or hard drinks are not included so if you want you should pay extra fees for it. That was not practical especially in August and very hot weather. Accessibility to beach is nice and short distance.
  
  What could be improved: long distance from room to restaurants and swimming pool .. Choosing to walk this distance several times during daytime in August is not preferable .
