Hotel Description
You know what surprised me about the Sheraton Plaza 115? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well in Hurghada. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star property, but the location on Sheraton Road puts you right in the sweet spot where you can actually walk to decent restaurants without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist strips.
The thing is, this hotel gets the basics really right. The rooms are clean (I’m talking genuinely clean, not just “looks clean from a distance”), and the AC actually works – which, let me tell you, matters a lot more than fancy marble when it’s 40 degrees outside. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re close enough to everything that you don’t need to rely on expensive hotel taxis to get around. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well too – they steered me toward this little seafood place about ten minutes away that I never would’ve found otherwise, and away from the tourist traps that line the corniche.
Here’s the thing about Hurghada hotels – a lot of them either go full resort mode where you feel trapped, or they’re so basic you’re just sleeping there. This place hits that middle ground where you’ve got a proper base but you’re not paying for amenities you’ll never use. The breakfast is actually decent (real eggs, not powdered, and they make a solid Arabic coffee), and I noticed they keep the common areas properly maintained without that tired, worn-down feeling you get at some places in this price range. Check-in was smooth, parking’s not an issue, and – this might sound small but it matters – the internet actually works reliably in the rooms. If you’re planning to stay during the cooler months, you’ll appreciate that they don’t blast the AC unnecessarily, and if you’re here in summer, well, you’ll be grateful they know how to keep things properly cool without making it feel like an icebox.
