You know what caught me off guard about Sky Star Hotel? The name makes it sound like some flashy resort, but it’s actually this refreshingly straightforward place that just gets the basics right. I mean, it sits right on that stretch of the Safaga-Hurghada road where you can see the Red Sea shimmering in the distance, and honestly, the location is kind of perfect if you don’t want to be stuck in the thick of Hurghada’s tourist chaos but still want easy access to everything.

The free shuttle thing – and I know everyone says this about hotel shuttles – actually works here. They run it pretty regularly to the city center, which saves you from dealing with taxi negotiations or trying to figure out the local bus system. The staff running the front desk seem to genuinely know the shuttle schedule too, not like some places where you ask and get three different answers. What I really appreciated was how they handle the whole 3-star thing without pretending to be something they’re not. The rooms are clean, the AC works (crucial in Hurghada, trust me), and there’s this no-nonsense vibe that I found oddly relaxing after dealing with some of the more… theatrical hotels in the area.

Here’s the thing though – and this might matter depending on what you’re after – it’s not right in the heart of the action. You’re not going to stumble out of bed and into a bustling market or find yourself steps away from the marina. But that 8.8 rating makes sense when you realize it’s doing exactly what it promises: giving you a solid base to explore from without the premium prices of the beachfront places. The road can get a bit busy during the day (it’s a main route, after all), but by evening it quiets down enough that you can actually hear the waves if you listen. I noticed they’ve got this practical approach to everything – even the breakfast setup feels designed by someone who actually travels rather than someone who just read about hotels in a manual. If you’re the type who wants to spend your days exploring Hurghada’s coral reefs or wandering through the old town, then coming back to a place that’s comfortable without being fussy, Sky Star hits that sweet spot where you’re not paying for amenities you won’t use but you’re also not compromising on the stuff that actually matters for a good night’s sleep.

  The hotel was very clean and modern and the staff were very, very nice.
  They also offered a very good breakfast and refreshments. 100% would recommend.
  
  There isn't much within walking distance of the hotel, however, the transfer service is very good and the driver Shariff was very friendly and helpful!.
  
  There is also a small grocery shop outside the hotel.
  
  What could be improved: I only have good things to say about this hotel 🙂

  I’ve stayed in more than 10 resorts in Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada over the past month. Almost gave up on finding the perfect stay that truly meets my needs as a solo female traveler – until now. Feeling lucky to have booked exactly Sky Star Hotel as my last stop before leaving the city… now I don’t even want to leave, I adjusted my plans because I finally enjoy the trip. Ended up extending my stay 🥰

  Die Unterkunft war wirklich perfekt für einen entspannten Girls Trip. Ich würde Sie jedem empfehlen, der mal der Realität und dem Alltagsstress entfliehen will! Die Zimmer sind unglaublich groß und die Betten ein Traum. Die Aussicht vom Rooftop pool ist wirklich ein Traum. Rund um nur Wüste und etwas weiter kann man das Meer sehen. Es gibt zwei weitere Pools und es war auch super ruhig. Echt empfehlenswert für Pärchen oder für einen Recover Urlaub. Dass Personal war auch super super hilfsbereit und hat uns alle unsere Wünsche erfüllt. Ich komme definitiv wieder!
  
  What could be improved: Es gibt nichts auszusetzen, während meiner Zeit war das Hotel noch nicht fertig, was ich aber nicht schlimm finde. Dafür war es sehr ruhig. Man muss wissen es gibt nicht viel in der Nähe, Essen zu bestellen ist auch etwas schwierig aber das Hotel hat einen Supermarkt und es wird noch an weiteren Shops gearbeitet. Das Frühstück war okay. Aber wenn man dass weiß ist es echt top.
