The location is what really makes this work – you’re right in Soma Bay, which honestly feels like a different world compared to the chaos of central Hurghada. I mean, it’s still Egypt with all the energy that comes with it, but there’s something more laid-back about being part of The Breakers complex. The diving and surfing crowd gives the whole place this relaxed, sporty vibe that I wasn’t expecting. You’ll hear people talking about their morning dives over coffee, and there’s always someone heading out with a surfboard under their arm. The apartment itself is actually well thought out – they weren’t kidding about “fully furnished,” and I appreciated that someone clearly lives in this area because all the practical stuff is there. Good water pressure (crucial in Egypt, trust me), decent air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, and a kitchen that’s small but has everything you’d actually use. The bedroom gets a nice cross-breeze if you open the windows at night, though you might want to keep them closed during the day unless you enjoy sand as a seasoning for everything.

What I really liked was how quiet it gets in the evenings – Soma Bay doesn’t have that relentless nightlife noise you get closer to Hurghada’s main strip, but you’re not completely isolated either. There’s something nice about falling asleep to the sound of waves instead of car horns, you know? The whole Breakers setup means you’ve got access to their dive center if that’s your thing, and honestly, even if you’re not into diving, the people running it know everything about the area. They’ll tell you which beaches are worth the trip and which restaurants won’t leave you regretting your life choices. Parking isn’t an issue if you rent a car – there’s space, and it’s not the usual Egyptian parking adventure where you’re wondering if your car will still have mirrors when you get back. The check-in was surprisingly smooth too, though I’d recommend confirming everything a day ahead because, well, this is Egypt and sometimes wires get crossed.

Here’s the thing – this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but it feels real in a way that a lot of resort properties don’t. You’re getting a genuine slice of life in Soma Bay without paying resort prices, and that 9 rating starts to make sense when you factor in the value. If you’re the type who wants to experience a place rather than just visit it, and you don’t need someone making your bed with little towel animals every day, this could be exactly what you’re looking for.
