Hotel Description
You know what really surprised me about the Somabay Seaview Loft? It’s actually got character – which honestly isn’t something I expected from a 3-star place in a resort development. The name’s a bit of a mouthful (seriously, who came up with “Somabay Seaview 1BR Loft 2 Mins to Beach & Pool”?), but once you’re there, you get why they crammed all those details in.
The loft sits in this modern complex called Mesca, and I mean it when I say it’s two minutes to the beach – I timed it because I’m weird like that. What they don’t tell you is that those two minutes feel even shorter when you’re carrying a cooler and beach chairs, which is clutch when the Hurghada sun gets serious around midday. The whole Soma Bay area has this planned community vibe that could feel sterile, but this particular spot manages to dodge that. Maybe it’s the way the loft’s positioned – you get these glimpses of the Red Sea from the main room that make you stop whatever you’re doing and just… look. The view isn’t dramatic or Instagram-perfect, but it’s real and calming, especially in the early morning when the water’s still glassy.
The space itself works better than it should on paper. It’s got that industrial-meets-beach thing going on with concrete floors that actually feel cool under your feet (genius in this climate) and these big windows that pull in the breeze off the water. The kitchen’s small but functional – I made coffee every morning and simple meals without wanting to tear my hair out, which is saying something. What I really appreciated was the attention to small stuff: decent water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually block light, and – this is key – reliable AC that doesn’t sound like a freight train. The pool situation is pretty sweet too; it’s shared but never felt crowded, probably because most people head straight to the Red Sea anyway. Can’t blame them – the snorkeling here is ridiculous, and you’ve got easy access to some of the better coral spots without dealing with the crowds closer to Hurghada proper. Check-in was smooth, parking was no hassle, and the whole setup just felt… comfortable. Like someone actually thought about what people need when they’re trying to relax. It’s not fancy, but it’s smart, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re more interested in what’s outside your door than what’s inside your room.
