But walking into this two-bedroom unit on the fourth floor of Building B2, I actually stopped and said “oh wow” out loud. The space is genuinely impressive – high ceilings, these massive windows that flood everything with light, and furniture that doesn’t look like it came from a hotel catalog. You know what really got me? The kitchen is actually functional. I’m talking full-size appliances, decent counter space, and enough dishes that you could cook a proper meal instead of just heating up leftovers.

The location turned out to be this perfect sweet spot I didn’t know I was looking for. You’re far enough from the main El Gouna action that you won’t hear construction at 7 AM or drunk tourists stumbling home (trust me, that’s a thing near the marina), but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you to Downtown or the Kite Beach area in maybe ten minutes. The compound itself feels secure without being stuffy – there’s a pool that’s actually clean and usually empty during weekday mornings, which was honestly my favorite discovery. The building’s pretty well-maintained too, though the elevator can be a bit temperamental during peak hours. Parking was never an issue, which might sound boring but anyone who’s spent time in El Gouna knows that’s not always guaranteed.

What really impressed me was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile. The balcony has this view that’s not Instagram-perfect but gives you a real sense of the neighborhood – you can see families going about their day, kids playing in the compound courtyard, and if you crane your neck a bit, you catch glimpses of the lagoon. The air conditioning works well (crucial for those scorching summer afternoons), and the WiFi was solid enough for video calls back home. I mean, there are a few quirks – the bathroom door sticks a little, and the shower pressure varies depending on time of day – but nothing that actually bothered me.
