Honestly, when I first heard “Studio In Sky el Gandoul compound,” I wasn’t sure what to expect – but this place really surprised me. It’s tucked away in the Intercontinental District, which if you know Hurghada, is actually one of the better areas to stay. You’re not right in the chaos of the tourist strip, but you’re close enough that getting to the beaches and restaurants isn’t a hassle.

The compound itself has this sort of residential feel that I really liked – it doesn’t scream “tourist hotel” the moment you walk in. The studio setup works well if you’re traveling solo or as a couple, and honestly, for a 3-star place, they’ve done a solid job with the space. The kitchen area is small but functional (I mean, you’ll probably eat out most of the time anyway), and the bed was actually comfortable, which… you know how hit-or-miss that can be in this price range. What impressed me most was how quiet it gets at night – the compound layout really blocks out the street noise, which is saying something in Hurghada. The AC works properly too, and trust me, you’ll appreciate that during the summer months when it’s pushing 40 degrees outside.

Location-wise, you’re maybe a 10-minute walk to some decent local spots that the tour groups don’t really hit. There’s this little coffee place nearby that does proper Egyptian breakfast if you get tired of hotel food, and the compound’s security is pretty good – I felt comfortable leaving my stuff and heading out for the day. The 9.3 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not luxury by any stretch, but everything just works the way it should. Check-in was smooth, the staff actually spoke decent English, and they were helpful with local recommendations without trying to sell you tours every five minutes. I’d definitely consider staying here again, especially if you want somewhere that feels more like a temporary apartment than a typical hotel room.
