You know what caught me off guard about this place? It’s actually on South Marina Road, which honestly is the sweet spot in El Gouna – close enough to everything but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually hear yourself think. I mean, when I first pulled up to this poolhouse duplex, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot, but that 9.1 rating makes total sense once you step inside.

The thing about El Gouna is that most visitors get stuck in the central lagoon area and never venture down to South Marina, which is sort of a shame because this is where you get that authentic Red Sea vibe without paying resort prices. This duplex – and I love that they call it what it is instead of some fancy made-up name – sits right where you can walk to the marina in maybe five minutes, but you’re not dealing with the constant hum of boats and restaurant music. The pool situation is honestly what sold me though. It’s not huge, but it’s perfectly positioned so you get morning sun if you’re an early swimmer (which I’m definitely not) and afternoon shade when the Egyptian sun gets, well, Egyptian. The water stays surprisingly clean too, probably because it’s not shared with fifty other units.

Inside, the three bedrooms actually feel like three bedrooms – none of that cramped “technically it’s a bedroom if you can fit a twin bed” nonsense. The master upstairs catches this amazing cross-breeze in the evenings, and you can see a sliver of the Red Sea if you crane your neck just right from the balcony. What I really appreciated was the kitchen setup – it’s got everything you need if you want to grab fresh fish from the marina market (ask for Ahmed at the third stall, he’ll set you up) and actually cook instead of eating out every meal. The duplex layout means you’re not all on top of each other, which is clutch if you’re traveling with kids or, let’s be honest, if someone in your group snores.

Parking is straightforward – there’s space right outside, no hunting around the neighborhood or paying extra fees. Check-in was refreshingly simple too, none of that endless paperwork dance. The owner clearly knows the area well and actually gave useful recommendations, not just the standard tourist trap suggestions. During peak season – roughly December through February – you’ll want to book the pool time in your head because other guests will have the same idea, but it never felt crowded. The AC works properly (always a concern in Hurghada heat), and the Wi-Fi is solid enough for video calls if you need to check in with work or family back home. Look, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works, it’s clean, the location is genuinely great for exploring both El Gouna and day trips to Hurghada proper, and honestly? After a day of diving or kite surfing, you just want a comfortable bed and a pool to rinse off the salt. This place delivers on both without any fuss.

  The house is spacious, homely, well-located, and the surroundings are peaceful. Sherrie is a great support manager. It was very nice that all the basic necessities like laundry detergent, spices, handsoap, etc. Were provided.
  
  What could be improved: The following is meant as constructive feedback. Cooking is quite difficult, as the stovetops heat up slowly or not at all. Fortunately, eating out is very affordable. The upstairs drain doesn’t drain well. So showering one after another is challenging. I understand it may not be another option, but having only 2 sunbeds by the pool, feels limited. The washing machine is very old and no longer cleans well. It might be helpful to provide a few more bath or beach towels.

  What could be improved: The doors were very very noisy, but it's not the fault of the host, it's the construction. But every time you opened or close a door, you could hear it in the entire house.

  Nice Spacious Accommodation in quiet area. Sherrie who over looked the apartment was very helpful if ever we had any issues which was really appreciated.

  There were only 2 sunbed cushions in a 3 bedroom apartment & there were no more outside, so other guests sharing the pool wanted our cushions so we had to bring them in at night. We had to buy lilos to lie on.
