The apartment itself embraces those traditional Nubian design elements with rich earth tones and geometric patterns, but it’s done tastefully. What I loved most was how quiet it gets at night – Upper Nubia doesn’t have the party crowd that clusters around downtown El Gouna, so you can actually hear the water lapping against the shore. The apartment feels more like staying in someone’s carefully curated home rather than a rental property, if that makes sense.

Here’s the practical stuff that matters: parking is straightforward since you’re not dealing with the congested marina area, and the host clearly knows their stuff – check-in was smooth, and they actually gave useful local recommendations (not just the obvious tourist traps). El Gouna’s shuttle system connects you to the main areas when you want action, but honestly, I found myself just wanting to hang around the lagoon most of the time. The kitchen setup means you can grab groceries from the local market and cook with a view, which saves money and feels more authentic than eating out every night. One small thing – the Wi-Fi was solid, which matters if you’re trying to work remotely or just need to stay connected. I’d definitely come back, especially during shoulder season when El Gouna isn’t packed with European tourists and you can really appreciate the quieter side of this Red Sea gem.
