You know what caught me off guard about Sunrise Alma Bay Resort? It’s actually tucked away from the main Hurghada chaos, about 14 kilometers down the Safaga road where things get quieter and honestly, more authentic. I mean, you’re still close enough to hit the bustling marina district when you want that energy, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the constant honking and street vendors at your doorstep.

The property sits right on this gorgeous stretch of Red Sea coastline – and I’m talking about the kind of water that makes you question if someone cranked up the saturation on your eyes. The resort’s beach area is surprisingly well-maintained without feeling overly manicured, if that makes sense. There’s this relaxed vibe where families are building sandcastles next to couples reading books, and the staff somehow manages to keep everyone happy without hovering. The rooms are solid for a 4-star place – nothing fancy, but the AC works (crucial in Hurghada’s heat), the beds are actually comfortable, and most importantly, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like some places I’ve stayed. What really impressed me was how they handle the little things: fresh towels without having to hunt down housekeeping, and the mini-fridge that’s actually cold enough to keep your water bottles refreshing.

Here’s what sold me on this place though – the diving and snorkeling situation is genuinely excellent. The house reef is accessible right from the beach, which means you can literally walk into some of the best underwater scenery in Egypt without booking expensive boat trips. I watched kids getting their first glimpse of parrotfish while more experienced divers were gearing up for deeper exploration, all from the same entry point. The restaurant food is better than expected too – they do this grilled fish that’s clearly caught locally, and their breakfast spread includes both international options and Egyptian specialties (try the ful medames if you haven’t). Parking is never an issue, which sounds mundane but trust me, matters a lot when you’re dealing with rental cars in Egypt. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be the flashiest resort on the coast, but it delivers on the stuff that actually matters for a Red Sea vacation.

  The location is great, the management are awesome starting from the GM, the FO assistant manager, reaching the F&B manager, the sea is wonderful, the swimming pool is excellent, it was a very good vacation. The rooms were ultimately clean and well organized and well maintained and exceeds many 5 stars hotel. Since we experienced several issues with the staff, I would like to highlight the excellent attitude of Shenouda and Hbesha (Mohamed) as a perfect example of good staff.
  
  What could be improved: The staff (specially the bar men) are the biggest drawback of this resort, it`s clear that many of them have lack of training, they dont know how to deal with guests at all, they seem to fight with guests with any requests, hide several stuff from guests and provide them only for the tips payers, they conduct some insults, and internal fights between each others, the food quality is very high while the taste and the cooking methods need immediate revision, the animation team seems to be not dedicated to what they are doing. The guest relations team is extremely useless, the a la carte restaurants are very big question mark.

  1- Staff in Hotel is friendly and special thanks to Mr Abdelfattah, front office manager he was very helpful and supportive.

  We had a fantastic 2-night stay at this beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean hotel. The surroundings are calm and picturesque, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options that we thoroughly enjoyed. One of the highlights was the range of activities offered during our stay, especially the live music by the beach at night—it added a magical touch to the experience.
  My daughter had an amazing time, and seeing her enjoy so much made our stay even more special. This has definitely been one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had so far, and I’d gladly recommend it to family and friends.

  Great location, clean, modern bedroom with everything works. All staff friendly and helpful. The food was very good and varied in the buffet. There's no need to use the 2 a-la-carte restaurants.
  The evenings entertainment was very good and refreshing differently from the regular resorts Egyptian shows.
  Strong wifi throughout the resort, even at the beach, and free!
