You know what struck me first about Sunrise Tucana Resort Grand Select? It’s how they managed to build something that feels genuinely luxurious without being stuffy – and honestly, that’s rare in Makadi Bay where you’ve got resorts trying way too hard to impress. The place sits right on this gorgeous stretch of private beach where the Red Sea is so clear you can watch parrotfish swimming around from the shore, and I mean crystal clear, not the murky “clear” some places claim.

The resort itself is massive – I’m talking about multiple pools, each with its own vibe, and the main infinity pool actually makes you forget you’re at a resort and not some private villa. What I really appreciated was how they’ve got these quiet corners everywhere; you can find a spot by the adults-only pool area where the only sounds are gentle waves and maybe some distant conversation from the beach volleyball court. The rooms are spacious (and I mean actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious), with those floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the Red Sea perfectly. Pro tip: if you’re booking, try to get one of the upper floors on the sea side – the sunrise views are absolutely worth the extra cost, especially if you’re naturally an early riser anyway.

Food-wise, they’ve got this figured out better than most all-inclusive places I’ve stayed at. The main buffet doesn’t feel like a cafeteria, and their à la carte restaurants – particularly the seafood one right on the beach – serve dishes that actually taste like someone cares about cooking, not just filling plates. The staff genuinely seems happy to be there, which makes such a difference when you’re asking for restaurant reservations or beach towels for the third time. Makadi Bay itself is about 25 minutes south of Hurghada airport, so you’re not dealing with the chaos of the main city but you’re close enough if you want to explore the local markets or take a diving trip to some of the better coral sites. The resort runs a shuttle to the nearby shopping area, though honestly, you might not want to leave once you’re settled in with a book by that infinity pool, watching the mountains change color as the sun sets over the desert behind you.

  This was our 1st all-inclusive experience, and it did not disappoint. Tucana is an amazing resort, the Posh Club experience was really nice, where the guests relax and comfort is at the centre of it all. The staff is so helpful and professional, shut out to Ahmed at the beach area. That guy was always ready to check on us and keep all our soft drinks going. And the Posh Club restaurant staff, Samir and his team are the best. The food is high quality, smaller portions but perfect if you want to enjoy all three daily meals. Definitely highly recommended.
