It’s actually tucked away on this quieter stretch of Sahl Hashish Road – not right in the chaos of central Hurghada, which honestly was perfect after dealing with the usual Red Sea resort madness. I mean, you’re still close enough to everything (maybe 15 minutes to the main tourist strip), but there’s this sense of breathing room here that I wasn’t expecting from a 3-star place.

The thing is, this hotel gets the basics really right without trying to be something it’s not. The rooms are clean and surprisingly spacious – I had this corner unit that caught these incredible cross-breezes off the Red Sea, so I barely needed the AC during the day. The staff actually remembers your name after a couple days, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re trying to feel settled somewhere. And honestly? The pool area becomes this little community by afternoon – you’ll find yourself chatting with other guests over drinks, getting restaurant recommendations for Hurghada proper. The food’s solid too, though I’d skip breakfast some mornings and walk about 10 minutes to this little bakery the locals hit up (the hotel desk guy, Ahmed, told me about it – get the cheese pastries).

Here’s what I think makes Sunset Pearl work: it’s got that sweet spot pricing where you’re not overpaying for fancy stuff you won’t use, but you’re also not dealing with the headaches that come with really budget places. The beach access is decent – it’s a shared stretch, but the water’s that impossible turquoise you came to Egypt for, and the snorkeling right off the shore is actually pretty good if you head out early before the day-trippers arrive. Check-in was smooth (they had my room ready at 2 PM, no drama), and parking’s easy if you’re renting a car to explore the area. The only real downside? The Wi-Fi gets spotty in the evenings when everyone’s online, and the hot water takes a minute to kick in – but honestly, for the price point and the location, these feel like pretty minor trade-offs. It’s the kind of place where you’ll sleep well, wake up to that Red Sea view, and actually feel like you’re experiencing a slice of Egyptian coastal life rather than just another tourist bubble.

  What could be improved: There is no Wi-Fi in the apartment, the owner barely speaks English and it was very dirty, no one cleaned up before letting new guests in. And the bathroom sink leaks, so It’s always wet on the floor
