You know what really caught me off guard about Tawaya Sahl Hashesh? The fact that it’s actually pulling off a 9.3 rating as a 3-star property – and honestly, after spending time there, I get it. This place sits right on Sahl Hashish Road, which if you’re not familiar with the area, is sort of the sweet spot between Hurghada’s chaos and the more remote resort strips. You’re close enough to grab a taxi into town when you want some authentic Egyptian street food, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the constant honking and tourist hustlers.

The whole vibe here feels more like staying at someone’s well-kept beach house than a typical hotel. I mean, don’t expect marble lobbies or fancy concierge desks – this is the kind of place where the staff actually remembers your name by day two and asks how your snorkeling went. The rooms are clean and comfortable (though the AC can be a bit temperamental in the afternoon heat), but honestly, you’re not going to spend much time inside anyway. What really works here is the beachfront situation – they’ve got this stretch of Red Sea coastline that’s surprisingly uncrowded, especially in the mornings when the water’s like glass and you can see straight down to the coral. The snorkeling right off the beach is actually pretty decent too, which isn’t something you can say about every spot along this coast.

Here’s the thing about Sahl Hashesh that a lot of people don’t realize – it’s got this microclimate where the wind patterns are just right, so even in summer it doesn’t feel as oppressive as central Hurghada. The staff at Tawaya seems to know this area inside and out; they’ll point you toward the good diving spots that aren’t overrun with tour groups, or tell you which days the local fishermen bring their catch to the small market about ten minutes down the road. Check-in was surprisingly smooth (no Egyptian bureaucracy drama), and parking’s never an issue since they’ve got plenty of space. The restaurant food is… well, it’s hotel food, but the breakfast spreads are generous and they do a solid job with the local fish dishes. I’d probably venture out for dinner most nights, but that’s half the fun of staying somewhere that’s not trying to keep you trapped on property. For what you’re paying at a 3-star level, getting direct beach access and genuinely friendly service in a spot that feels more authentic than the big resort complexes – it’s actually a pretty smart choice, especially if you’re the type who values location and local character over fancy amenities.

  The apartman is very big and comfortable. Fridge, water boiler, kitchen equipment, king size bed, tv, sofa, big bathroom, washing machine working perfect. Air conditioner in both rooms. Superhost. The beach and supermarket is 2 minutes walk from room.
