Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Tawila T1-17, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone. But this big villa right at El Gouna’s entrance actually surprised me in the best way possible. You know how sometimes a place just feels right the moment you walk in? That’s what happened here.

The thing about this spot is that it’s perfectly positioned for people who want to experience El Gouna without being stuck in the middle of all the tourist chaos. I mean, you’re literally at the entrance to one of Egypt’s most famous resort towns, so you can walk to the marina and all those trendy restaurants everyone talks about, but you’re not dealing with the constant noise and crowds right outside your door. The villa itself is spacious – and I mean properly spacious, not that cramped European hotel room kind of space. Five bedrooms means you’ve got options, whether you’re traveling with a big group or just want to spread out and claim your own corner. The setup actually works really well for families or friends traveling together because there’s enough common space where you can hang out together, but also enough privacy when you need to escape.

What I really appreciated was how the place manages to feel both local and comfortable at the same time. The staff knows the area well – they’ll tell you which restaurants are worth the walk and which ones are just tourist traps (honestly, this saved me so much money and disappointment). And since you’re right at the entrance, getting around El Gouna is easy, but you can also venture out to explore more of the Red Sea coast without feeling like you’re trapped in resort-land. The mornings are particularly nice here – you get this quiet hour before the day-trippers start arriving, and you can actually hear the birds and feel that desert breeze without the usual bustle. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which… well, if you’ve ever tried to park in central El Gouna during high season, you’ll understand why that matters. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it delivers on what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need. The three-star rating might make you think it’s basic, but honestly, it’s more about the no-frills approach than any lack of comfort. You’re not paying for marble bathrooms or a concierge in a fancy uniform, but you’re getting a genuine place to stay that feels like a home base for exploring this part of Egypt.

  I recently stayed at this villa and overall had a good experience. The villa is spacious with plenty of rooms and all the necessary facilities. The price was reasonable, which added to the value of our stay. However, I did notice that the bed sheets were not clean, and the pool could benefit from better lighting. Additionally, there were no cleaning tools provided.
  
  On a positive note, I accidentally left my bag behind after our stay, and the owner promptly called me to arrange for its return. I really appreciated his honesty and helpfulness. With a few improvements, this villa could be an excellent choice for travelers and big families.

  – [ ] broken washer that lasts 5 hrs each time you wash your cloth – We asked for towels to be washed & brought back & our request was ignored

  – [ ] Rooms were full of dust & dirt, under the beds had remaining of cigarettes across the floors
  – [ ] Sheets were smelly
  – [ ] Master bedroom bed was broken on the last floor
  – [ ] No internet for more than half of our stay
  – [ ] Kettle is full of mold
  – [ ] Cigarettes remaining , ants and bugs all over the bed in the 1st master bedroom on 1st floor

  The property manager was kind enough to offer us one extra night stay free of charge , however given the damage caused to our short stay , I would absolutely not recommend this villa under the current management
