You know what? The Mangroovy Beach Haven completely caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When I first pulled up to this place in El Gouna, I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot. But honestly, this little gem punches way above its weight class. The whole vibe here is just… relaxed. Like, genuinely relaxed, not that forced “tropical paradise” thing some hotels try to push.

What really sets this place apart is how it sits right in the heart of Mangroovy – you’re literally walking distance from the marina and all those waterfront cafes without dealing with the insane crowds you get closer to downtown El Gouna. The staff actually remembers your name after day one (which sounds small but makes such a difference), and they’ll give you the real scoop on things. Like, they told me the best time to hit Abu Tig Marina is right around sunset when the day-trippers have cleared out but the restaurants are just getting their groove on. The rooms aren’t fancy – I mean, it’s a 3-star, you know what you’re getting – but everything works, the AC doesn’t sound like a freight train, and the beds are actually comfortable. Plus, there’s this little balcony situation where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the whole neighborhood wake up.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: it feels like staying in a neighborhood instead of being trapped in some hotel bubble. You’ve got that authentic El Gouna energy without the tourist trap pricing right outside your door. The beach access is solid (though you’ll want to grab one of the umbrellas early if you’re visiting during peak season), and I actually preferred their quieter stretch of sand to some of the more “premium” spots I checked out. Check-in was smooth – no drama, no endless forms, just keys and a genuine “welcome.” Parking’s easy too, which honestly matters more than people think when you’re planning day trips around the Red Sea area. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs everything to be absolutely pristine and modern, this might feel a bit lived-in for your taste. But for me? That’s exactly what made it feel real. The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two here – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, and that authenticity is refreshing as hell in a tourist destination like this.

  The location of Mangroovy apartments is great, convenient and close to all you need, a grocery store, pharmacy, coffee shop are just one minute walk away. The guys at the security gate are friendly and very helpful. Tuk-tuks are also widely available in the area. The pool just outside the apartment is clean and inviting.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment itself could use a bit of attention, especially in comparison to other apartments available in Gouna, where I and my friends have stayed countless times. While it was clean and generally comfortable, one of the sofas on the balcony was broken, the bedside lamp in the bedroom was there just for show as its plug type did not fit in the socket, if you want to cook bring your own oil, salt etc., the apartment is also not equipped with any spare trash bags or cleaning products (broom for example) for a quick do it yourself clean. Also note that one bedroom technically does have 2 double beds, but in reality it is one regular double bed and another double bed that pulls out from beneath the first one and is attached to it, offering very little or no privacy to the people sleeping in those 2 beds. We contacted the host/manager about this issue and spent much too long solving it.
