You know what? The Snuggly Studio G Cribs caught me completely off guard. I mean, with a name like that, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when I rolled up to El Gouna – but this little spot actually has some serious charm hiding behind its quirky branding. It’s tucked right into the G Cribs development, which if you’re not familiar with El Gouna’s layout, sits in one of those quieter pockets where you’re not constantly hearing scooters buzzing past your window at all hours. The whole vibe feels sort of like someone’s cool apartment that they decided to turn into a guesthouse, which I guess is exactly what it is.

What really got me was how thoughtfully everything’s set up inside. The studio layout actually works – and I say that as someone who’s stayed in way too many cramped hotel rooms where you’re bumping into furniture every time you turn around. There’s this cozy sleeping area that feels properly separated from the little kitchenette, and honestly, having those basic cooking facilities makes such a difference when you’re staying somewhere longer than a couple nights. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, with decent water pressure (always a concern in smaller Egyptian hotels, let’s be real). The whole place has this warm, lived-in feeling that’s way more comfortable than some of the flashier resorts down by the marina. I loved that they’ve got proper blackout curtains too – essential when you’re trying to sleep off a late night exploring El Gouna’s bar scene.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned to actually experience El Gouna like a person rather than a tourist. It’s about a ten-minute walk to the main downtown area where all the restaurants and cafes are, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the evening crowds when you just want to chill. The whole G Cribs area has this residential feel – you’ll see people walking their dogs in the morning, kids playing in the courtyards, that sort of authentic neighborhood energy that’s harder to find in the resort zones. Plus, getting to the beach is totally doable on foot, though you might want to grab one of those tuk-tuks if you’re loaded down with beach gear. The staff genuinely seems to care about the place, which shows in little details like actually having decent wifi (not always a given) and keeping common areas clean without being obsessive about it. Is it luxury? Definitely not. But it’s got personality and comfort in spades, and sometimes that beats marble lobbies and overpriced room service every single time.
