So here’s the thing about The Touristic Promenade Apartment – it’s one of those places that totally surprised me in Hurghada. I mean, when you first see the address (right next to the police station on El Mamsha El seyahey), you might think it’s going to be all touristy and generic, but honestly? It’s got this really authentic Egyptian charm that most 3-star places just don’t manage to pull off.

The location is actually brilliant once you figure out the neighborhood. You’re literally in the heart of the tourist promenade area, which sounds overwhelming but it’s not – well, not during the day anyway. Mornings are pretty peaceful, and you can walk to about six different coffee shops without breaking a sweat. The police station next door might seem weird, but it’s actually reassuring, especially for solo travelers, and the officers are surprisingly helpful if you need directions. What I loved is that you’re close enough to all the action but the apartment itself feels tucked away from the chaos. The evening call to prayer from the nearby mosque is beautiful if you’re into that sort of cultural experience – though light sleepers might want earplugs around 5 AM.

The apartment itself punches above its weight for a 3-star rating. The rooms are cleaner than I expected, and whoever designed the place actually thought about storage space – there are these clever little nooks everywhere for your stuff. The air conditioning works (crucial in Hurghada heat), and the water pressure is decent, which honestly can be hit or miss in this part of Egypt. The balcony views aren’t spectacular, but you get glimpses of local life that feel genuine. I spent way too much time watching the street vendors set up their stalls in the morning while drinking my coffee. Check-in was smooth enough, though the front desk guy’s English gets a bit shaky in the evenings – but he’s incredibly patient and genuinely wants to help. The WiFi actually works throughout the building, which is rarer than you’d think around here.

You know what really sold me though? The little details that show someone cares. Fresh towels that actually smell clean, a mini-fridge that’s properly cold, and they stock the bathroom with decent soap – not those tiny slivers that dissolve after one use. The building itself has character without being run-down, and there’s this great little grocery store about two minutes away where you can grab snacks and drinks without paying hotel markup prices. If you’re planning to explore Hurghada’s markets and beaches during the day then want somewhere comfortable to crash at night, this place gets it right. It’s not luxury, but it’s honest and well-run, which in my experience is way more valuable than fancy amenities that don’t work properly.

  Good location, spacious, the doorman is extremely helpful and available all the time.
