You know what caught me off guard about Tiba Resort? It’s actually got this laid-back, authentic Egyptian vibe that you don’t always find at the bigger chain hotels along the Hurghada strip. I mean, it’s sitting right there on the Ismailia Road – which honestly can get a bit busy during the day with all the airport transfers and local traffic – but once you’re inside the property, it sort of feels like its own little world.

The thing is, this place knows exactly what it is. It’s a solid 3-star that punches above its weight without trying to pretend it’s something fancier. The staff here actually remember your name after a day or two, and I noticed they’re genuinely excited to share recommendations about local spots that aren’t just tourist traps. One of the guys at reception told me about this little seafood place down the road that locals go to – turns out it was incredible and cost half what you’d pay at the resort restaurants closer to the marina. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works properly (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in this price range). I particularly liked that they’ve got decent air conditioning – crucial when you’re dealing with those intense Red Sea afternoons – and the beds are actually comfortable for sleeping, not just looking good in photos.

What really won me over was the location situation. You’re close enough to walk to some decent restaurants and shops, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually relax. The beach access is pretty straightforward, and while it’s not the most pristine stretch of sand you’ll ever see, the snorkeling right off the shore is surprisingly good – I saw some colorful fish without even trying that hard. The pool area gets busy around mid-morning when families start arriving, but early morning and late afternoon it’s perfect for just floating around with a book. One small thing that bugged me – the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, so if you’re planning to work remotely, maybe ask for a room closer to the main building. But honestly, maybe that’s not such a bad thing when you’re trying to disconnect anyway. For what you’re paying, especially if you catch it during off-peak times, Tiba Resort delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.
