Look, I’ll be honest with you – Turtles Beach Resort isn’t going to win any luxury awards, but there’s something genuinely charming about this little spot on Turtles Street that keeps drawing me back. The three-star rating is pretty accurate, and that 7/10 score feels about right when you consider what you’re actually getting for your money in Hurghada.

The first thing you notice pulling up is how refreshingly low-key everything feels compared to some of the massive resort complexes further down the coast. I mean, you’re still in the thick of things – you can easily walk to the main strip where all the restaurants and shops are – but somehow it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The lobby has this sort of comfortable, lived-in vibe that actually puts you at ease rather than making you worry about tracking sand everywhere. Check-in is usually pretty smooth, though I’d avoid arriving during the afternoon rush when the charter buses tend to roll in.

What really works here is the pool area, honestly. It’s nothing fancy, but the layout is smart – there are enough shaded spots that you don’t have to get up at dawn to claim a decent lounger, and the bar service is surprisingly attentive. The staff genuinely seems to remember your drink order after a day or two, which is a nice touch. The beach access is decent too, though you know what? The water entry can be a bit rocky in spots, so definitely bring some beach shoes if you’re planning to do more than just lounge. The snorkeling right off the shore is actually pretty good – I’ve spotted some decent coral formations and the usual Red Sea suspects without having to book an expensive boat trip.

The rooms are, well, they’re fine. Clean, air conditioning works reliably (crucial in summer), and the beds are comfortable enough. Don’t expect luxury linens or anything, but everything functions as it should. The WiFi is better than I expected, though it can get spotty during peak evening hours when everyone’s uploading their underwater photos. One thing I really appreciate is how quiet it gets at night – the layout and location mean you’re not dealing with party noise from nearby clubs, which can be a real problem at some Hurghada hotels.

Food-wise, the restaurant does a solid job with both Egyptian and international options, though I’d definitely recommend exploring some of the local spots within walking distance for variety. There’s this little seafood place about five minutes away that locals actually go to – always a good sign. The hotel breakfast is pretty standard but filling, and they usually have fresh fruit which I always appreciate in this heat.

Bottom line – if you’re looking for a comfortable, unpretentious base to explore Hurghada and the Red Sea without breaking the bank, Turtles Beach Resort delivers exactly what it promises. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and sometimes that’s exactly what makes a place work.

  The apartament is very beautifull and clean and it is very equipped,the beach is 25 metters by waking and private, the owner was so friendly and help us so much. I recomend this place 100 %, we will back.

  Diese Wohnung bietet alles, was man für einen entspannten Individualurlaub benötigt. Die Ruhe in der Anlage ist geradezu himmlisch und lädt dazu ein, den Alltag hinter sich zu lassen. Der Strand, der zur Anlage gehört, ist gepflegt und bietet eine herrliche Kulisse für ausgedehnte Spaziergänge oder entspannte Sonnenbäder.
  Die Wohnung selbst ist makellos sauber und bietet mit ihrem Balkon einen zusätzlichen Ort, um die frische Luft und die Ruhe zu genießen. Die Einrichtung ist gemütlich und funktional zugleich, was den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer macht.
  Insgesamt ist diese Wohnung der ideale Rückzugsort für Individualreisende, die Ruhe, Sauberkeit und Komfort schätzen. Ich kann sie uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

  Très beau studio, avec tout ce qu'il faut à l'intérieur pour se sentir comme à la maison. Bien équipé.

  What could be improved: Logement envahi de moustique ! Que ce soit sur la terrasse, ou devant la porte d'entrée, des que vous ouvrez une porte tous les moustiques entrent. Gros problème pour moi étant allergique. L'hôte nous a ramené un produit et nous avons été acheté ce qu'il fallait le lendemain de notre arrivée.
  Plage pas belle, fond marin sans poisson ni corail.
  Piscines trop petites (nous n'y avons même pas été).
  Le logement en lui même est bien, mais pas la résidence et les extérieurs.
