You know what struck me first about Turtles Beach Resort? It’s actually one of those places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not – and honestly, that’s refreshing in Hurghada where half the hotels are pretending to be five-star palaces. This is a solid 3-star spot that gets the basics right, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

The location is pretty sweet if you know the area – you’re far enough from the main Sheraton Road chaos to actually sleep at night, but close enough that you can still walk to decent restaurants without needing a taxi every time. I mean, the beach access is what really sells it though. The Red Sea here is still that incredible turquoise that makes your Instagram followers think you’re using filters (you’re not), and the hotel’s stretch of sand is surprisingly well-maintained. The snorkeling right off the beach is decent too – not world-class like some of the boat trips, but you’ll see parrotfish and maybe some rays if you’re lucky. The turtle thing isn’t just marketing nonsense either; I actually spotted a couple during early morning swims, though don’t expect David Attenborough-level wildlife encounters.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the place running smoothly. Check-in was quick, the rooms were clean (that Egyptian sunshine can be harsh, but the AC kept up just fine), and the housekeeping team actually paid attention to details. The pool area gets busy around 10 AM when families start claiming their spots, but if you’re an early riser like me, you can have the whole place to yourself with your coffee. The food situation is… well, it’s hotel buffet food, so manage your expectations accordingly. But the Egyptian dishes are actually pretty good – the staff takes pride in those – and breakfast has enough variety to keep you happy. One small thing that bothered me: the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, especially the ones facing the garden rather than the sea. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you’re planning to work remotely.

The 7.6 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re paying for. This isn’t luxury, but it’s comfortable and reliable, which counts for a lot when you’re dealing with the heat and wanting to spend most of your time exploring Hurghada’s dive sites or just lounging by the water. Plus, the VTGooo management seems to have figured out that little touches matter – like having actual beach towels available without a fight, and keeping the common areas cool enough that you don’t feel like you’re melting every time you walk through the lobby.

  Lage ideal, flacher Strand, gut für Kinder geeignet. Schöner Pool für Kinder und guter Sportpool für Erwachsene.
  Kinder können bedenkenlos herum laufen, alles übersichtlich da wenig grün.

  Apartament z dostępem do plaży – świetne rozwiązanie dla rodzin z dziećmi. Restauracja na praży również nie ma mocno zawyżonych cen w stosunku do tego, co jest poza murami ośrodka. Meble nowe, aczkolwiek chyba niedawno oddane do użytku (kilka śrub było niedokręconych).
  
  What could be improved: Pralka była zepsuta, zalewała cały aneks kuchenny. Gospodarz wie już o problemie i kolejni goście nie powinni już mieć z tym problemu.
  Trochę daleko do centrum, jednak tani Uber niweluje tą niedogodność.

  What could be improved: The surroundings very dirty and still under construction. The area is in the middle of nowhere. The swimming pool was not clean either. In the apartment, the state of the kichen was a disapointment: there was one cup and one glass and some filthy cutlery. The overall impression was simply unpleasant dispite the fact the apartment itself is spacious and light.
