Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Turtle’s Inn – I mean, it’s a 3-star place tucked away in Abu Tig Marina, and you know how marina hotels can be hit or miss. But this little spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. The thing about El Gouna is that it’s not your typical Egyptian resort town (it’s this planned community about 30 minutes north of Hurghada), and Turtle’s Inn feels like it gets that vibe perfectly. You’re right on the water, which means you can literally walk out and grab a coffee at one of those waterfront cafes without dealing with any of the usual tourist chaos you’d find closer to Hurghada proper.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually care – not in that scripted, over-the-top way, but genuinely. Check-in was smooth, parking was no hassle (and trust me, that matters when you’re hauling luggage in Egyptian heat), and the rooms were clean and comfortable without trying to be something they’re not. The AC worked great, which honestly is half the battle in this part of the world. You can hear some marina activity during the day, but it’s more pleasant boat sounds than annoying noise – actually kind of relaxing if you’re into that sort of thing. The Wi-Fi was decent enough for video calls, though I’d recommend the lobby area if you need to do any serious work.

Here’s the thing about staying at Abu Tig Marina – you’re in this bubble of calm, but you’re still close enough to everything El Gouna has to offer. The downtown area with all the restaurants and bars is maybe a 10-minute walk, and you can easily grab a tuk-tuk (those little golf cart things they use here) if you don’t feel like walking back after dinner. I actually ended up spending more time just wandering around the marina than I planned because it’s genuinely pleasant, especially in the evenings when the temperature drops and the boats are all lit up. The hotel doesn’t have a pool or beach access, but honestly, you’re so close to the public beach areas and the hotel beach clubs that it didn’t matter to me. Plus, the money you save here versus some of the fancier resorts means you can actually afford to enjoy those beach clubs without feeling guilty about it. For what it is – a solid, no-nonsense base for exploring El Gouna – Turtle’s Inn really delivers. That 8.6 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two here.

  Staff is super friendly & problem solver as i faced an emergency and wasn’t able to make it in the 1st day of my stay but afterwards and after communicating with the mgmt they upgraded the rest of my stay to half board even-though it wast their fault. Location is perfect abd breakfast is astonishing

  I was really happy with m stay at Turtle inn. The staff are so friendly and want to help you settle in. Barakat made extra care of my room, cleaning it well and making the bed pristine. Wiso on reception is charming and made sure everything was up to expectations.
  The location of Turtle inn is perfect as it is in the middle of the marina,, which is surrounded with places to eat and shop.

  This was our first family trip with our 8 months old baby and the staff made it such a comfortable and easy stay. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and they even got us a surprise cake! Thank you Turtles Inn for the amazing vacation. Location is exceptional

  The location is perfect directly in the Marina. Everything is in walking distance. The breakfast was nice amd with a great view in the Marina
  
  What could be improved: The location is great but also means that at night there is noise from the Bars and Restaurants until 1-2am. If you are looking for a calm place this is not the right place 😁
