You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment you step onto that terrace, El Gouna spreads out below you like someone’s perfectly planned Instagram feed – except it’s actually real, not filtered. Hill Villa 57 sits up on one of those gentle rises that give you just enough elevation to feel like you’re surveying your temporary kingdom, and honestly, the view alone justifies the booking.

The villa itself is one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with fancy finishes, but everything just works. The pool isn’t massive – I mean, you’re not doing Olympic laps here – but it’s deep enough for a proper swim and positioned so you catch both morning sun and afternoon shade depending on where you float. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings; El Gouna can get pretty lively down by the marina, but up here you mostly hear the wind and maybe some distant music from the hotels below. The terrace is genuinely large, not just real estate agent large, with enough space for that morning coffee ritual without feeling like you’re sitting in your neighbor’s lap.

I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t the Ritz, and the 3-star rating tells you that upfront. But sometimes you stumble onto places where the hosts actually care, and that 9.7 rating? It makes sense once you’re there. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward, parking was right there (which matters more than you’d think in El Gouna), and they’d stocked the basics without making a big production about it. The location puts you close enough to walk down to Abu Tig Marina when you want that resort town energy – maybe fifteen minutes if you don’t mind the slight incline back up – but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the evening crowds unless you choose to. During my stay, I found myself spending way more time than planned just hanging out on that terrace, especially around sunset when the Red Sea turns all those colors that look fake in photos but are somehow even better in person. If you’re the type who values space to breathe over having someone fold your towels into swans, this place gets it right.
