Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Vesta – El Gouna Residence on that dusty stretch of El Gouna 1 Road. I mean, it’s a 3-star place in what’s essentially a planned resort town, so you know what you’re getting into, right? But here’s the thing – sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that don’t try too hard to impress you, and Vesta is exactly that kind of gem.

What struck me first was how the staff actually remembered my name after day two (and trust me, I have one of those forgettable names). The whole place has this relaxed, residential vibe that makes sense once you realize El Gouna itself was designed as a self-contained community rather than just another beach resort strip. You’re staying where people actually live and work, not in some tourist bubble. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the air conditioning works like a dream (crucial in Hurghada’s heat), and I loved that my balcony looked out over the lagoons instead of a parking lot. The Wi-Fi was surprisingly solid too, which matters when you’re trying to video call home or upload those Red Sea sunset photos.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location puts you right in the heart of El Gouna without the premium price tag of the waterfront hotels. You can walk to Marina Boulevard in about ten minutes, which is perfect for evening strolls when the temperature drops and the cafes start buzzing. And you know what? Being slightly inland meant I could actually sleep at night without the constant sound of jet skis and party boats that plague some of the beachfront spots. The hotel arranges transfers to the main beaches, but honestly, I found myself exploring the quieter lagoon areas nearby – there’s something magical about those early morning moments when the water is like glass and you’ve got herons fishing just meters away. The breakfast spread won’t win any awards, but it’s fresh and fills you up before a day of diving or exploring. I kept coming back to this place because it felt like staying with friends rather than being just another tourist passing through. If you want authentic Egyptian hospitality without the tourist markup, this is your spot.

  Apartment, Furniture, Equipment and the whole secured compound with the pool.
  
  What could be improved: Location of the compound is a bit far from the center, if you have your own transport then it is fine. If not, you need some contacts of Taxi's and Tuktuk drivers to move around.
