Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Villa Anna & Snake – I mean, that name alone had me curious, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked into the Khayyam Village area along Misr Ismailia Street, which locals know is far enough from the main Hurghada chaos but close enough that you’re not stranded. The whole Al Khayam Resort complex has this laid-back vibe that you don’t always find in the busier hotel strips closer to the marina.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to keep things intimate despite being part of a larger resort setup. The staff – and I’m talking about the guys who’ve been there for years, not just seasonal workers – they actually remember your name after day two. Ahmed at the front desk knows his stuff about diving operators in the area (skip the overpriced hotel packages and ask him for local recommendations). The rooms are solid four-star quality, nothing groundbreaking but everything works, which honestly is half the battle in Egypt sometimes. The AC keeps up even during those brutal July afternoons, and the beds are actually comfortable – I’ve stayed at supposedly fancier places where I woke up feeling like I wrestled a camel all night.

You know what really sets this place apart though? The dining situation is way better than it has any right to be for a resort restaurant. They do this grilled fish that’s clearly coming from local fishermen, not frozen imports, and their take on traditional Egyptian breakfast spreads is legit. I found myself looking forward to meals instead of just tolerating them. The pool area gets busy around 11 AM when the European guests stake out their spots, but early morning or late afternoon it’s perfect for actual swimming instead of just posing for Instagram. Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute taxi ride from the old town souks (negotiate the fare beforehand – 50 Egyptian pounds is fair), and the Red Sea diving spots are easily accessible without dealing with the crowds at the bigger resort beaches. That 9.6 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense – this place genuinely delivers on creating a relaxed Egyptian coastal experience without the usual resort headaches.

  Where to begin!!?.
  
  I've been fortunate to have travelled to many places, but never have I been welcomed by hosts like Anna and Snake. Their hospitality 'IS' second to none, while allowing you to have you're privacy. You are made to feel like part of their family (should you wish of course!).
  
  I had two amazing evening's in their company with an amazing banquet of freshly cooked egyptian quisine around their fire pit, eating fish we all caught only a few hours before!!. It's not often people can touch my "heart", but Anna and Snake did, along with their friends.
  
  My apartment was spotless, with a large bowl of Fresh fruits on arrival, and to top it all off was a coffee machine with really excellent coffee beans to make that perfect first coffee at sunrise!. A very comfy bed too!.
  
  This is a small boutique villa, run and owned by two awesome souls. I can't wait to return, next time with my wife and son!! ☺️.
  
  What could be improved: The reality of returning back to the crappy UK and no sun for god knows how long!

  Anna & Snake are really hospitable, and not just welcome you as a place for stay, but also try their best to make sure that your stay in Hurghada is pleasant. They pay very much attention to the details, welcome fruits, information paper, the kitchen setup just makes you feel at home with all the utensils and towers, you won't see in hotel or other hostels. If you are up for snorking or kitesurfing, or anything, just ask them and you'll be in good hands by getting to know some of the greatest ppl in town, with local price 🙂
  
  If I visit Hurghada again, I'll for sure to stay with them again. Especially it's just 2 minutes walk to the kitesurfing school.

  Anna and Snake are clearly the best of our trip. They brought guest house spirit alive. The appartement is very clean, sheets smell good, not like in hotel. It’s very quiet. But the hospitality is something else. We will come back 100%
  
  What could be improved: Nothing. Maybe bring a sleep mask if you are sensitive to light as there are no blinds yet.

  The location is right in front of the beach. It's beautiful. Snake is very helpful. Goes out of his way to make sure you have a comfortable stay. Snake and Anna are great host. The rooms were clean. Comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. It's perfect.

  Amazing stay with friendly hosts and a great location. Comfortable bed, beautiful view, a full kitchen and right next to a great spot for kite surfing. Thank you Anna and Snake for being so welcoming and making me feel at home.

  One of the best stays in Egypt for us!
  The host was very welcoming, thoughtful and even took us on a boat ride to snorkel and taught us how to fish. We feel very home there.
  The flat is clean, nicely decorated, within walking distance to the beach and kitsurfing school
  They even have a hot tub and really nice Front and back garden with greeneries to chill around.
  
  What could be improved: Absolutely nothing.

  Apartment has everything you need, nice place to stay in, looks the same as on pics. Communication with Anna and Snake – very nice, all went smooth.
  
  What could be improved: – every day before 5 am you will be wake up by prayers from Mosque (we are not used to it in our country…)
  – there was a party one night (till 3 am) on the Yacht, but it has nothing to do with apartment, just a coincidence
  – as it is close to the sea – it was pretty windy (but it is a personal thing… thats a great thing for kitesurfing, so it can be positive as well)
  – there is a coffee machine, but it doesn't work (we don't mind it, we are not a heavy coffee drinkers)

  What an absolutely perfect match! We can't thank Snake and Anna enough for this incredible week. They provided us with everything we could have possibly needed. Our room had a delightful view, and Snake's wonderful conversations and recommendations truly enriched our experience. Everything we desired was right at our doorstep: the ocean, an incredible kite spot, and the company of genuinely kind-hearted people. And let's not forget the delicious food!
  
  No frills, no fuss, just the pure bliss of being surrounded by the untamed beauty of the Red Sea and the desert. We fell in love with the simple pleasures of life.
