You know what caught me off guard about Villa Shahrazad? It’s tucked away in this residential area of Hurghada that most tourists never see – Mubarek-7 is actually where a lot of locals live, which I honestly found refreshing after all the resort-heavy strips along the coast. The villa itself sits at number 190, and when I first pulled up, I wasn’t entirely sure I was in the right place because it feels more like staying at someone’s actual house than a typical hotel. The whole setup is pretty intimate – we’re talking maybe a handful of rooms max, so don’t expect a lobby full of tourists comparing sunburns.

What really works here is the genuine hospitality, and I mean that in the most unforced way possible. The owners (or maybe managers, I never quite figured out the exact arrangement) seem to actually care about whether you’re comfortable, not just whether you’ve paid your bill. The rooms are clean and honestly more spacious than I expected for a 3-star place in this price range. Air conditioning works well – crucial in Hurghada’s heat – and the beds are decent, though I wouldn’t call them luxurious. The Wi-Fi is solid enough for staying connected, which isn’t always a given in residential areas here. Parking wasn’t an issue, and the neighborhood is surprisingly quiet at night, especially compared to the madness near the marina and hotel district.

Here’s the thing though – Villa Shahrazad isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy pools. It’s more about the authentic experience of staying somewhere that feels connected to actual Egyptian life rather than the tourist bubble. You’re about a 10-minute drive from the main hotel strip and beaches, which some people might see as inconvenient, but I actually liked having that bit of distance. The area has some local restaurants and shops within walking distance, and honestly, grabbing breakfast from the little bakery down the street became part of my routine. The 7.2 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s solid and genuine in a way that a lot of higher-rated places aren’t. If you’re looking for that all-inclusive resort experience with poolside service, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want clean, comfortable accommodation with real personality and don’t mind being slightly off the beaten path, Villa Shahrazad delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense.

  Väktaren på villan är så hjälpsam, trots att han alltid är där så känner man inte det men när man behöver hjälp så dyker han upp och hjälper så gott han kan.
  
  Villan är lite äldre dvs gamla fönster och dörrar men funkar perfekt till alla sammanhang man behöver villan till.
  Det tillkom en extra kostnad på 5$/person per natt som service avgift som inte var synlig för mig ”kunden” men var synlig hos värden ”kan vara problem med booking”
  
  Men jag rekommenderar stället jätte mycket och HUNDARNA var så snälla, skyndsamma och gjorde hela mitt besök.
  
  What could be improved: Gamla fönstrar och dörrar, ligger lite långt ifrån publiken och sevärdheter men absolut en escape från stadslivet…

  Tout était parfait, en lisant les commentaires j’étais un peu inquiet alors j’ai réserver deux jours pour me faire ma propre idée. Une fois sur place impossible de partir. Mohamed le gardien est quelqu’un de formidable. Vraiment pour les groupes c’est ce qu’il faut.
