Hotel Description
You know what? Villa Touristic Village Nr 7030 doesn’t win any prizes for having the catchiest name, but honestly, that’s part of its charm — it’s refreshingly unpretentious in a city where half the resorts sound like they were named by a marketing committee on overdrive. I stumbled across this place during my third trip to Hurghada, and it’s become my go-to spot when I want something comfortable without the tourist circus atmosphere.
The thing about this villa is that it sits in one of those quieter pockets of Hurghada’s hotel district where you actually hear birds in the morning instead of just construction noise and tour buses revving up. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the main strip if you want the action, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant hawkers and noise that can honestly drive you nuts after a few days. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star — clean, air-conditioned (thank god), and the beds are actually decent, which I can’t say for every place I’ve stayed in Egypt. The bathrooms could use a refresh, I mean the tiles are a bit dated, but everything works and the water pressure is surprisingly good for this part of town.
What really sold me on this place though is the staff — they remember your name after day two, and Ahmed at the front desk actually knows the city well enough to point you toward the local spots instead of just the touristy fish restaurants along the marina. He told me about this little coffee shop three blocks over where the locals hang out, and it became my morning ritual. The pool area gets busy around midday when families arrive, but early morning and late afternoon it’s perfect for actually swimming instead of just posing for photos. There’s this weird charm to the place — maybe it’s the slightly overgrown garden areas or the fact that half the guests seem to be repeat visitors who treat it like their Egyptian home base. The breakfast is standard hotel fare, nothing spectacular, but they make decent eggs and the coffee is strong enough to wake you up before your diving trip. Location-wise, you’re about 10 minutes by taxi to the marina if you’re doing day trips, and the local microbus stop is right around the corner if you want to venture into downtown Hurghada proper — just prepare yourself for the adventure that is Egyptian public transport. For the price point and the genuine lack of pretension, Villa Touristic Village delivers exactly what it promises, which in Hurghada’s sometimes hit-or-miss hotel scene, is actually worth quite a lot.
