You know what struck me first about Villa Y118? It’s actually tucked away in this quieter pocket of El Gouna where you can still hear the call to prayer from the nearby mosque in the morning, but honestly, it adds to the authentic Egyptian experience rather than being disruptive. The villa sits on Sabina Street – and if you know El Gouna at all, you’ll appreciate that this puts you close enough to the Marina for evening strolls but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually relax. The heated pool is no joke either; I mean, even in December when the Red Sea gets a bit chilly for some people, this thing stays perfectly warm. The lagoon access is what really sets it apart though – you literally walk out the back and you’re on this calm, shallow water that’s perfect for paddleboarding or just floating around with a book.

What I love about staying here is how the owners (who I’m pretty sure live nearby) have thought about the little things that matter. The kitchen actually has proper knives and a decent coffee maker – not those tiny European cups you usually get. There’s reliable WiFi throughout, which honestly can be hit or miss in this part of Hurghada, and the AC units are newer models that don’t sound like jet engines all night. The place sleeps about six comfortably, and I’ve noticed they keep extra blankets in the wardrobes because, well, desert nights can surprise you even when the days are scorching. Parking is right outside, which might not sound like a big deal until you’ve spent twenty minutes circling Marina Boulevard looking for a spot during peak season.

The location really shines when you want to explore beyond the typical resort bubble. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Abu Tig Marina – that’s where the good restaurants are, by the way, not the touristy ones closer to the hotels. Captain Hani’s fishing trips leave right from there if you’re into that sort of thing, and the little grocery store on the corner stocks everything from sunscreen to decent Egyptian wine. I actually prefer staying here during shoulder season (April or October) when the weather’s perfect and you’re not competing with crowds everywhere. The villa gets this lovely cross-breeze in the evenings, and you can sit by the pool watching kiteboarders on the lagoon while the sun sets behind the desert hills. It’s one of those places where you end up extending your stay because leaving feels like leaving a friend’s house rather than checking out of accommodation.
