You know what caught me off guard about Zak Inn? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you from the street – honestly, driving down Sheraton Road, you might almost miss it tucked there next to the CIB Bank. But step inside and there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos.

I mean, Hurghada can be hit or miss with hotels, especially the four-star ones that promise the world and deliver plastic furniture and lukewarm showers. But Zak Inn gets the fundamentals right in a way that makes you relax pretty quickly. The lobby has this lived-in feel – not fancy marble everywhere, just comfortable seating where you can actually sit and plan your day without feeling like you’re disturbing some designer’s vision. The staff seems genuinely happy to see you too, which is refreshing after dealing with some of the more tourist-factory places along the coast. They know the neighborhood well – like, really well. When I asked about getting to the marina area, the front desk guy didn’t just point vaguely toward the water; he actually walked me outside and showed me the shortcut through the side streets that avoids the main road traffic.

What really sells this place though is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re close enough to everything that matters – the Red Sea is obviously the main draw, and you can walk to decent diving spots without needing a taxi for every little trip. But you’re also on a quieter stretch where you won’t have tour buses idling outside your window at 6 AM (learned that lesson the hard way at another place). The CIB Bank next door is actually handy if you need to sort out money stuff, and there’s a little cluster of local restaurants within a few blocks that haven’t been completely taken over by the resort scene. Honestly, some of the best seafood I had was at this tiny place about five minutes’ walk away that the hotel recommended – definitely not somewhere I would’ve found on my own.

The rooms themselves feel like someone’s paying attention to the details. Good water pressure, air conditioning that actually works without sounding like a helicopter, and – this might sound small but it matters – enough outlets near the bed for your phone and camera chargers. The 8.9 rating makes sense when you add it all up. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Hurghada, but after a long day of diving or exploring, you want to come back somewhere that just works smoothly. The kind of place where check-in takes five minutes instead of twenty, where the WiFi doesn’t cut out every time someone uses the microwave, where the sheets are actually clean and the shower gets hot quickly. Sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy lobby chandeliers in the world.

  For £20 a night (what I paid) the value is unmatched, extremely helpful staff, a decent pool, cheap laundry service, working AC, there really was nothing more you can ask for.

  I have stayed here a few times, I have always found the staff to be very polite and helpful.
  The rooms are certainly spacious and clean, nothing was a inconvenience to the staff,
  The pool area was brilliant clean tidy, throughout our stay.when going out to do shopping or get something to eat, staff always held open the door for us, even when coming back late in the evening, they were always very kind to us, and other guests.

  In the past, I've always stayed at the bigger chain hotels, not anymore. Now I have found the Zak Inn, I will only be staying at this hotel if they have the availability on the dates I require. This hotel has everything you need for a room only stay. Absolutely fantastic.

  A free upgrade without ask to a room beside the pool, very nice area. An oasis with very calm musik and poring water 🥰 Room okay, nothing fancy, a bit damaged construction and interior, but clean, tidy and spacious 😊 Polite staff. Well maintained common areas. Very good value for money! Recommend

  The reception team were very friendly, and helpful. And my room was clean and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the pool.
  
  The location is ideal, especially for a solo traveller, as it’s very central for taxi pick ups for diving/day trips, and close to restaurants and amenities.
