The AC works great (crucial during those scorching July afternoons), and the bathroom’s got decent water pressure – honestly, after staying in some places around the Red Sea where the shower barely drizzles, this felt luxurious. I loved that there’s actually counter space in the little kitchenette area, so you can grab fresh fruit from the local market and not eat every meal at tourist prices. The bed’s comfortable enough, though the pillows are a bit firm if you’re picky about that sort of thing. Storage space is decent too – I could actually unpack my suitcase instead of living out of it for a week.

What really makes this place work is the location within Hurghada itself. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk from the marina where all the diving boats leave (perfect if you’re here for the coral reefs), and there’s this little local café just around the corner that serves the best ful medames I had during my entire Egypt trip. The resort’s pool area gets busy during peak season – December through March especially – but early mornings it’s practically empty if you want to swim laps or just float around with your coffee. Parking’s not an issue if you rent a car, which I’d recommend for exploring some of the less touristy spots along the coast. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions – they actually gave me useful tips about avoiding the crowds at the popular snorkeling spots. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with fancy amenities, but for the price point and that prime Selena Bay location, ZU214 delivers exactly what you need for a solid Red Sea vacation without the resort markup.
